How do you feel about Miley Cyrus hosting the 2008 CMT Country Music Awards?

I’m from the Rock & Pop section of Yahoo! Answers, and I know the majority of us are NOT Miley Cyrus fans. So, seeing as how she and her father are hosting the CMT Country Music Awards tonight, I thought I’d ask the Country section what they think of her.

I am from Franklin, TN and she was at my church on Sunday before the awards on Monday. She is a great role model for young girls, but she is not country, I agree. I wish a real country singer would come out of the woodwork and not just some media circus performer or some reality show winner or some kid who can’t sing who happens to write her own music. Where are the Trisha’s? The Lee Ann’s?? I’m waiting.
Eh, whatever.
It’s cute that such a young lady can host such a big award show. I’m sure she will do fine.

She is NOT country she should NOT host COUNTRY music awards. What is the obsession over this little girl? She’s not old enough for the music business. She’s been caught partying already. She’s a bad infulence and we don’t need Eight year old Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus/Desinty Hope fans voting for the CMA’s. It frustrates me. I’ve thought about not watching it but decided against that. I’m still very angry about that. On the commercial her smile and all that is so fake. I laughed when I saw it. She’s too fake and too… Ech
I think she is an awful singer. There are so many other talented artist. She doesn’t deserve the fame.

miley is a fabricated bubble-gum teen idol; and it’s obvious this is nuttin’ more than a sorry attempt at ratings…
I don’t like her at all but whatever…I don’t watch it anyways cuz most of the new country sucks! It’s not country at all. That’s why they have a non-country singer hosting it…
yea.. i’m a HUGE country fan but i dont know about miley cyrus… i used to like her but now i think shes just getting annoying. on idol gives back, im sorry but her performance wasnt that great and she wasnt funny either. i’m not sure how i feel about this… im not against her hosting it but im not for it either

Yeah, she isn’t a country singer, but her father is. I think it is ridiculous that she gets to host it because she has nothing to do with country music.
She sings music for a whole bunch of tweens. It doesn’t make sense. I’m not mad. I just think it is not normal.
They should just use her stage double again.
Well she must not be country because I never hear her on the radio. She is Pop as far as I know, and can stay there as far as I’m concerned. Maybe she should take some of the other Pop singers with her after she is done hosting.
As to her hosting all I can say is it must be nice to have a former star as a Daddy.

I’m not a Miley Cyrus fan ,nor a fan of her father,I think someone else should be hosting,anyway, im watching the awards for the music,the nominees,and everyone else but the hosts.
i absoulutly HATE it… i dont mind her dad hosting it bc he sang country but whatever she sings <and not very well> is not country… they should have a COUNTRY singer like tiom mcgraw or kenny chesney or SOMEONE who sings country host it…

I don’t care if her father’s a country singer! They’re just trying a lousy attempt at getting more viewers from the younger audience. A Disney pop princess shouldn’t be allowed to even get up on stage at a COUNTRY music awards show!
She’s not exactly a country singer. I don’t like it. Billy Ray Cyrus, taht’s okay. She’s okay, but she’s too popular and is crossing into the "dark side"

well, i am also an R&P’er, and i’m not a big country fan, so I probably wouldn’t watch them anyways, but I think it’s stupid, she’s not country, and neither is her dad, just because they talk with western accents on their TV show, doesn’t make them country
